The Model Number listed is E500i-B1E. I actually received the better E500i-B1. The "E" at the end of the model number makes it a lesser TV. The "E" model has only 3 HDMI inputs, & a few less features. The panel (screen) may be inferior as well, but I can't confirm. I recommend that you go to the Vizio website and compare the 2 models for yourself. It is unclear which model you will get. I was happy to get the better model, but it may have been a fluke. I recommend this TV if you are OK with the specs of the "E" model. You may get the better one like I did, but I wouldn't count on it.
My refurb was in new shape, and has had no issues in the month since purchase. The price was ok, but there are better prices elsewhere if you have other payment options. I have owned Vizio TV's for 5 yrs, and they give a lot of performance value per dollar. They are best suited to savvy people who like to tweak their TV for maximum performance. If you never change picture settings or don't understand what they do, you won't get the best out of this TV. One thing people should understand is "refresh rate" Either model WILL BE a 60Hz TV, Period. Yes, All TV Makers claim a higher refresh rate, but it's a gimmick. Usually the ACTUAL refresh rate is half of what they claim. TV makers emulate (fake) refresh rates using "LED Strobing" or similar effects which sometimes have a negative effect on picture quality. On my E500i-B1, I turn off almost all of the advanced features (effects), and only use my own custom programmed settings for each input. People are impressed by my cheap TV!
