  • Vinyl to digital is simple!
    Verified Purchase

I needed a new turntable to replace an old Dual 1228. I also have about 1000 LPs that I wanted to convert to digital for use in the modern age. This turntable is top quality and the included cartridge is good quality and is easily upgraded if desired. The turntable is also made to be portable so moving from stereo system to computer is not an issue. Additionally, converting with this turntable and Audacity is simple, with a very short learning curve to make excellent quality digital tracks. Even some of my old records originally played on a $50 GE record player could be cleaned up to a reasonably good quality. The most time consuming part of the conversion process is adding track labels and deleting pauses. As for recording you just play the LP and record with Audacity, and use the "Monitor" feature to listen as it records. I record multiple LPs while doing other stuff and then take time later to label and export my tracks. Very satisfied with this purchase.

  • A great turnatable without going overboard
    Verified Purchase

If you are serious about getting into vinyl either as a come back or, like me, for the first time, this is the turntable to start with. Stay away from those cheap record players with incorporated speakers. This table may cost more, but is worth it. And if you don't want to go overboard and have your wallet get a big hit, this is your middle of the line choice. The turntable feels sturdy, sounds great (even though what kind of speakers you use have something to do with it.) I have it connected to a mini stereo and the sound is great for my small living room. The only minor grip was having the arm lock break on me. I know this is not a top of the line turntable, but it isn't cheap either, so I wish they had used a better plastic quality. Also, not an issue for me, but may be for some, is not having an automatic stop setting for this table. That is, after the disc is done, you have to manually bring the arm back to its resting position. Other than that, I'm happy with this table..

  • A very good turntable.
    Verified Purchase

This turn Table is very very good. The only reason I give It 4 stars is because my stylus is bad. I will contact Great Offer Stock and see if they will replace the stylus. If they wont, I will still keep this turn table, because the rest of the table runs great. The reason I know stylus bad is i had it checked out by a audio pro. My knowledge is limited on these matters.

  • sounds great with my cambridge phono pre.
    Verified Purchase

Vinyl noob here so take what will serve you. But a long time pseudo audiophile. I have heard 100k systems to modest 1k systems so... Sounds good overall...not great yet. I used the built in phono pre amp and used the off feature and pass the signal to my cambridge phono pre. The latter was obviously better by a huge margin. The depth is more pronounce, the highs are less muddle and more sparkly, and bass is more refine, control, and punchier. Use a external phono pre amp people. This combo yields good result. Did a FLAC/Digital vs. Vinyl test, not anything scientifically but just a casual listening session. I noticed the the vinyl versions of the songs I used appeared to me to sound fuller and more musical...cliche I know. Best word I can use. The flac files exhibit more crispness and the S/N ration was obviously better. The instruments on the vinyl sounded more natural, like hearing it being played live in the room. On the digital front, the sounds sounded more analytical. Sound stage belongs to vinyl. Best thing I love about vinyl are the mid bass, Awesome compared digital. In the future: Working on modding the unit bypassing the internal phono/usb module. From what I am gathering from the net, the difference is significant. This is under the assumption that your stereo system down the food chain is worth a buck or two, My modest mid fi system may warrant that. The mod may yield profound difference, particularly in the upper echelon of freq. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. I recommend it casual listener to reasonable audiophile. Solid unit and built to last. System: AudioTechnica turntable => Cambridge Audio (forgot the model but the current cheapest MM phono preamp) => Maverick Audio D1 DAC tube preout => Primaluna Prologue 3 => Primaluna Prologue 7 => Usher Audio CP 8571 speakers

  • Great for What It Is
    Verified Purchase

I bought this for my teenage son. It's perfect for him; feature packed with built-in preamp, USB and a decent cartridge. Being an audiophile it isn't the one I would get for myself, but it's very good quality and a good buy.

  • So far, so good
    Verified Purchase

We've only had this turntable for a week or so, so we can't write a long-term review but thus far: Sound quality is good. Given the price point, we aren't talking about the Most Amazing Turntable Ever, but it's solid, sounds good, and is a great entry into playing vinyl. Putting the turn table together was easy. The directions are clearly written, and the parts clearly labeled. It took perhaps 20 minutes from unpacking to playing a record. Adjusting the counterbalance took some time, but I suspect that's just me, as a neophyte turntable user.

  • Very high quality good sounding turntable
    Verified Purchase

Very good high quality turntable. We bought this for our son who is not a professional disc jockey, he just likes to play vinyl records. It is heavy and stable and the sound is excellent. It does not have an automatic shut when the record ends. The power button, and pause button are very easy to use. The dust cover is of very high quality clear plastic. The feet are very very heavy and staple.
