First of all I am a senior citizen, retired and have never used a mac computer. I am generally technologically brain dead so my son had a fit when he found out I was switching to mac because they are definitely more costly than other brands. After a friend's recommendation and a lot of consumer comparison, I decide to actually buy the macbook pro 13", model MD101LLA. This model has the best overall offerings and reviews. Mine is the 2016 version. I now have all apple products so they can all "communicate" with other. My model computer was the last model to have the CD/DVD capabilities which I still wanted. It was discontinue in 2016. Apple has its own built in internet security so you don't have to buy it yearly. This is a great size laptop with visual adjustments available since sometimes I need a larger version of screen. Using the touchpad and two fingers you can enlarge the picture as needed. My computer came with a word program, netflix capabilities, wifi, blue tooth, map quest, powerpoint, FaceTime, adjustable backlit keyboard, stereo speakers and so many other things I don't know how to use yet. With wifi I am able to sit anywhere in the house and print to my wireless printer without having to be next to it. With that being said, it is easy to use so don't let it intimidate you. I also bought macbook for dummies which will help me when I need it. This is an exceptionally well made computer and I am thoroughly enjoying my experience. It has about nine feet of cord access with a ground plug. The plug has a strong magnetic connection point and has a small green light that turns red when it is not fully charged. This functions with a touch pad or with an optional wireless mouse which I chose to buy. Apple corporation sets the price stores can charge for their merchandise. From most of my comparisons you can get this version for under a thousand dollars. You usually get what you pay for. Considering all the hours of enjoyment I have using this it is minimal in cost. It has plenty to offer and you don't need the newer versions. Best part it I can pack it up and take it with me anywhere. This laptop was so popular apple made this model for several years. The new versions don't have the CD/DVD slot and only offer iCloud capabilities for saving and receiving information. Again I'm old school and not ready for all the new bells and whistles.

Great price and a great until but one major problem, it was a unit packaged for delivery overseas. I opened up the box and only had foreign plugs making the computer unusable. I was forced to run to another County and spend $80 for an American charger. I would ask Great Offer Stock to be careful what they are shipping, adding additional cost to the purchase on the part of the consumer.

This replaces my 2010 MacBook Pro, which is still fine but I purchased this one mostly because it's the last of the apple laptops with optical drive. Now I'm set for the next decade! I used the savings to upgrade the drive to a solid state drive which is much faster. I had upgraded my 2010 MacBook Pro a few years ago. One great thing about Apple laptops is that they're easy to upgrade or replace the drive, RAM or battery.

I couldn't wait to get my new mac. I love that it has 500 gb of space. I purchased the Great Offer Stock membership at the same time and got enough credit back to purchase a bag and an external hardrive. And the mac came with wireless beats by dre earphones. cant beat that deal anywhere!!!

Plenty of storage and still small enough to tote around. Always looking for lighter, but lighter equals dollars. Good software, but nothing mainstream, you will have to buy Office to get powerpoint

this was the best decision i made. i love my new macbook pro. this is the first apple product i have ever owned and i am so glad i made the switch. starting my own business i needed a computer that was reliable and i have to say this computer is very fast and always ready to go when i turn it on. i had to call apple support 1 time and they were very helpful and had me up and running in no time. i don't think i will ever go back to a windows computer. Apple is the way to go. it takes a little bit of getting use to but i had it down in a day. Love Love Love my new computer. well worth the money.
