Best assembly instructions of anything I've ever ordered and had to put together. There are quite a few parts, but the labeling of the parts, the pre-drilled holes and the assembly diagrams make everything very easy to identify and understand. Only one tool required and it is provided. Material seems to be good quality, heavy hardwood with an attractive stain and finish.
Once assembled, the table is sturdy and stable enough to put my laptop on without fear of it getting knocked off. Like any relatively small table, it can be knocked over, but it won't just get bumped over. However, I would not set a full cup of coffee on it. It is large enough for my laptop and some papers to conveniently fit side-by-side.
The one negative is the height. It is not a standup desk and is better described as a drafting table. I have an ergonomic "knee-stool" that I use because of my back. This stool is a little higher than standard chair-height and is perfect for this desk. I guess I confused the height of this desk with another one I was looking at on-line when ordering. But this desk will not work as a standup desk without being raised. For now I have set each leg on some stacked books and it is still sturdy and stable enough to put my laptop on. I have an idea for a simple base for each leg made out of three boards that should be very sturdy and effective. The price of this desk was so low that I wanted this desk as an experiment for a standup desk and it will allow me to decide whether I can and will use a stand up desk before buying a big, expensive one.
