I installed a cork heel lift in both shoes, about 3/8", and it now strikes the ground and walks as well as the original citywalks. I am probably more sensitive than most people about shoe biomechanics, however, as my feet have been operated on. Hope this helps. the original shoe had little square shock absorbers that stabilized yet cushioned the heel upon heelstrike.
