Down and feather-filled products are packaged tightly duringshipping. Upon receipt, remove this item from its packaging, fluffgently, and allow several hours for full loft recovery. Inaddition, products sealed in plastic packaging sometimes have adisagreeable scent because of concentrated natural fibers. A fewhours of airing typically removes the odor.
We recommend that this item is fluffed at least once a week tomaintain down distribution.

You Get What You Pay For
I searched high and low to find a good deal on a down duvet with the specs I was looking for. I knew I wanted goose (not duck) down, a cotton damask stripe cover that was at least 350TC, baffle box construction, and lightweight (around 600-700 fill power). This duvet seemed to have everything I was looking for, and I was shocked at the price. I had a discount for this being my first purchase, so with shipping I got this home for under $$$. The moment I took it out of the box, I knew something was amiss. It had a VERY strong odor. This tells me the down is not fully cleaned and sanitized, but "treated." It took at least a week for the smell to dissipate. Essentially, if you have allergies, this may trigger them. Properly cleaned down does not have an odor. Also, the Great Offer Stock rep stated the fill is white down. I'm not so naive to believe you could get a 100% white goose down duvet at this price. You'd be looking at spending $$$$-$10,000+ people. Be realistic. What I didn't expect, was to receive a duvet FULL of feathers. When you hold it up to the light it is BROWN! I found the exact same comforter on ****** stating it is 50% white goose down/50% white goose feather. I believe it. The "baffle box" leaves a lot to be desired. ****** says double-stitched, self-piping. Take that for what it's worth. The center channels appear to be all feather, and not filled very well at that. The down seems to migrate to the edges. Frustrating, but with some hard fluffing, you can move them around a bit. The channels are NOT secure. The cover is nice, though. It is soft and easily 350TC, so big plus there. The duvet itself is lightweight and soft and does keep me warm enough. I sleep hot. If you're cold-blooded and/or looking for a heavy duvet, I'd skip this one. What you get is nowhere near as "plush" as shown in the picture. I haven't laundered yet, but I don't see why you couldn't wash on cold water/gentle cycle. Drying may be a challenge, though, because of all the feathers. We shall see. I'm not likely to dry clean. I don't think it's worth paying for. Overall, this is just ok for me. I like it enough I wouldn't send it back for the price I paid, but I am disappointed in the quality and being mislead by the stated fill material. I'll keep it as long as it lasts, but I won't purchase again.

Fine purchase
I am satisfied with this comforter. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that the down is not evenly distributed between the baffles. Other than that it is very nice, and has no bad smell. Just wish it were even. It seems the most down is in the outside edge.

This is a great comforter for my 7 yr old daughter. She sleeps on the upper bunk, so overheating is always a concern. She has been very very happy with it. It certainly keeps her sleeping through the night. The construction of the comforter is excellent. Better than my own comforter that we got from an Eddie Bauer years ago.

It did not turn out to be as full as it appears in the online photo. I ordered a different one and I will probably return this one. It was not what it was advertised to be.

According to the specs and Q&A, this is a goose down fill comforter vs the Hotel Grand being 50/50 down and feather. That appears to be the most comparable comforter here. In addition, it has a 600 vs 550 fill power and is lightweight at 31oz and best for everyday use. I get hot when I sleep, so this is good for me. I don't except this to be 100% down. Down comforters generally aren't. This is a common misconception. It has a decent 350 thread count cover (good for down comforters to maintain softness). I appreciate the company not marketing this as "Siberian Down." FYI for anyone looking, try to steer clear of anyone advertising "Siberian" down. This is a myth and marketing hype. The "Siberian Goose" is an endangered species with red and black plumes. In my lifetime, I've never come across a red or a black down comforter. Something to think about. I am hoping this is good quality at a bargain price. It appears to have most everything I'm looking for.
