55 years!! A reflection on life over New Sealy Cotton Sateen 300 Pillows purchase.
As we got older and the 5 daughters started out on their own one after another, and we are granted here and there with gorgeous spectacular grand children, and way too much spare time on our hands, we get sad, the good ole empty nest syndrome.
We have to keep telling ourselves its our time now Papa, to the Husband. For us to do things together not having to pack up daughters, grand children (well not all the time ***wink***), even though we would rather do that then most anything else! But they don't have free time now with all of their own grown up things in life to do. Roles have reversed in so many ways.
We practice this doing things together stuff going to dinner and actually getting to talk to each other, LOL, learning to go to the market and only buy a cart or less of groceries, instead of 2 or 3, learning to cook in little pans we never used before, throwing away milk because we just cannot seem to stop buying 2 gallons to get that discount, forgetting we do not have to pick up this for that one and that for this one!
Then all of a sudden so much makes sense!! We have a lot more money left over each month! We can redecorate this lovely new smaller home we bought at our leisure and maybe pick out some items that are better quality because we only need to buy one, or in this case, 2 pillows.!!
Actually its 9 pillows so far because we need 3 on each side of our bed, and then we have three more for two guest rooms in the house.
When our family was buying pillows for 7 of us, 7 beds it was expensive to buy even cheap ones in that quantity and more with each pillow set taking 4 once they all got into double and queen beds.
We have our 9 now! Still need to buy another 2 for another guest room and its going to be right now!
When we got these in the mail I was so excited because I knew this style with that extra panel going around the side making it more formed was going to be an improvement for my husband and I with us both having had back and neck surgeries.
When we unpacked them we laid on them and "sighed" in cushy, soft, relaxing, comfort immediately. We cannot wait to put them all together with our comforter, bedspread, curtains, throws, decorative pillows we bought, just a few more pieces to come in, and then "hit the sheets and pillows".!!
This will be a night, or day whatever time it is when we have all the pieces in to put it all together at one time, take pictures, jump in and enjoy!
Now this is living the "empty nest syndrome" and enjoying for the first time in our lives some great, wonderful, comfortable, pillows! Who knew right that a pillow could be so perfect and that having that extra money each month serves a good purpose and its for spoiling us a little bit now!
Its all good, the kids are all good, and next? A New Motorhome and it will be sporting these same pillows guaranteed on our bed!
