I erred by not purchasing memory foam, not paying attention to the description. This conventional foam is most likely "as advertised"; however, it is a little too firm for aging, aching joints. That being said, I was a little disappointed in the topper because when it was opened, it appeared soiled from the machine or something; further, as it lay on the floor for the recommended 48 hours to decompress fully, the cut along one length was not even. It is also a little too long for the queen mattress for which we purchased it. We have slept on it two weeks, and we are hoping to adjust to it, but I may be "swallowing" the purchase and seeing a memory foam topper to replace this one.
We have not had it long enough to determine the durability of the foam, but it does provide loft and some cushion but not as much as memory foam which it replaced.
