The king-sized mattress pad just barely fit in my top-loading Speed Queen extra large capacity washing machine. I recommend that larger sizes (definitely "king" and possibly "queen" as well) be laundered in a commercial front loader. There was some lint left on the pad after washing and drying but that's probably due to needing BIG washing machines and dryers. Otherwise, the pad seems well made.
The side panels aren't made of the nasty synthetic stuff which shreds over time and laundering. Our thick Sleep Number mattress doesn't fit into some pads. The Candice Olson product was purchased because I got tired of wrestling matches resulting in shredded side panels, failed seams, and broken finger nails. This pad fits fine, though the quilted top panel doesn't quite cover the whole mattress top.
It's a good value too. I had priced other mattress pads in block-and-mortar stores. Most of them were *** or more, didn't have sturdy side panels and weren't very generous in the fill category. This pad has enough fill that the quilt lines show through the fitted sheet. Not an issue for me, but it might be for those who want a very smooth looking bed, particularly with thin-material bed linens.
