There was a dye smell which I was not expecting because it said that these came laundered. The manufacturers laundering made me question the decision I made. I re-laundered these stiff pillowcases and although they do not have the dye smell, they are still stiffly, crisp even with fabric softener and static cling free used. The claim made that their washing "removes much of the stiffness" makes me wonder HOW STIFF is this cotton originally? The Sea Foam color is very close to a mint green. Oh well

Our Madison Park 300 thread count, 100-percent cotton soft wash percale pillowcases are an innovative twist on an old favorite. After manufacturing, the pillowcases go through an actual detergent washing and drying (just like you would do at home). This washing pre-shrinks and removes much of the stiffness of a typical percale sheet. In fact there is virtually no possibility of further shrinkage after this initial washing. All dirt, spots and oil stains that may have accumulated during the manufacturing process are removed entirely.
