    I was hopeful when I saw these Laura Ashley sheet sets because the Laura Ashley sets I still have from years ago are amazing. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed...I'm quite disappointed in these sets. The sheets are thin and limp, and when I first opened the packages, they smelled like strong glue. I washed them twice (extra wash/extra rinse) to get the smell out. The pillowcases are cheaply made - with seams along both long edges and the fold along the short end, and the cases are hemmed before the side seams are sewn. I gave the sets two stars instead of one because the sheets do have some redeeming features. They're relatively soft, they're substantial enough in size, and they're cut pretty straight. Definitely not the Laura Ashley quality of old, and not nice enough for company in my opinion.
