One of my favorite new additions!
I loved the king-size so much that I bought a queen-size for a friend who constantly complains that she's not sleeping well. While the wool mattress pad is not a replacement for a memory foam topper, it provides a luxurious, breathable, cushioning top layer to my bed that makes me feel like I'm sleeping in a luxury hotel. I'm very excited at the cozy breathability of this fluffy wool topper, and the quality construction of the topper gives me hope that the materials are of the best quality. The pad's elastic-rimmed box fits beautifully over my 17" thick mattress and keeps the pad from shifting. While I haven't washed the pad yet, I've read in the other reviews that it washes up beautifully and even softer and fluffier than it is already -- something for me to look forward to! BTW, I didn't notice any smell at all and wonder what some of the reviewers are going on about -- it's wool and if it gets wet it BETTER smell like wool of I want a REFUND :-) If it doesn't smell like wool that means it's either been treated with something I don't want near my body or someone is passing off a very fancy synthetic imitation, neither of which are desirable.

I love this pad because it adds extra softness to the bed and is warm in the winter and not hot in the summer. The wool works to keep away dust mites and such. Very well made and washes well.

So soft, worth every penny! Made in USA!
I usually don't write reviews, but felt that I must after buying this mattress cover. It's AWESOME!! After purchasing an all natural latex mattress (love) I discovered that our new bed, while being amazingly comfy, caused some sweating issues at night. Not wanting to purchase something synthetic that would off-gas we decided to buy the 1" thickness lambswool mattress pad to see if it could provide some natural breathe-ability between us and the mattress. Well packaged, it arrived in a timely manner. There was no noticeable "shedding" of the cover's wool and feels sturdy and well made. No smell to speak of, we put it on our bed and found that the generous size made it easy to put on our mattress. The elastic is thick and well sewn to the cover. After 1 night my husband and I found that our bed had become the most comfortable bed in the world, no kidding. The added cushioning of the cover has really reduced the sweating issues associated w/ the natural latex mattress. The added softness has made it difficult for my husband to get up in the morning. Our bed is now the most comfy place in the house - as it should be! Thank you for carrying this great product that is made in the USA.

Helped to end the sweating!
We were waking up on our memory foam mattress soaking wet every night. We were sweating constantly. This cover has helped to end that problem. The first time I made the bed, the sheets didn't want to stay on good, but seems fine with another set of sheets. Our mattress is 12 inches. It fit fine, with plenty of room to spare. Glad we bought it.

these sheep need some conditioner
Let's be honest. Knowing how much some lambswool mattress pads cost, I knew that I wasn't getting top quality. And, to be truthful, it is not a bad buy. But it's also not the luxuriously soft and silky feel that you get from a high-quality "real" lambswool (i.e. sheep fleece) mattress pad. My husband and I like to sleep directly on the fleece in the winter, and this one is just a little too scratchy to do that. But, if you're looking for a warm layer to go under sheets, it's certainly worth the relatively minor investment.

I have a memory foam mattress and though is super soft to sleep in I get very hot at night. Like I was sleeping on a heating pad set on high. I was walking me up every hour to put my leg outside the cover, but then I would feel cold. 🤷♀️ I was reading about it being a problem with this type of mattress. So I started searching for a new “non-sauna” mattress. Then I came across a blog talking these wool mattress covers and how they help regulate body temps. Oh and just to mention I’m 5’2” and 110lbs, not getting any hormonal hot flashes, yet anyway... I used this last night and slept for 6 hours without waking up on fire! Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but I’m sold for under $*** this is awesome. I was about to spend over $** to get a decent night sleep. So happy to have found this on overstock!
