OK, I feel like a spoiled brat that I bought this for my queen bed because I paid what I feel was a ridiculous amount for a very good new memory foam mattress and boxspring about one year ago. There's nothing wrong with the set, and it's very comfortable. However, I used to have a down featherbed on an old full-size mattress before I upgraded to my queen bed, and I really missed the "sinking into a fluffy cloud" every night that I had grown used to. As a side-sleeper, I find that my hips feel better sleeping on top of a featherbed. Yeah, I'm a heifer sized woman (sigh) with inflammatory and osteoarthritis in the knees, and I just find that having the extra comfort of a featherbed helps me. There are no funny smells, and the quality for the price is really good. I put the featherbed on top of the mattress, cover it with a twin flat sheet for protection, and then put the fitted queen sheet on. That keeps the featherbed in place. I don't notice any severe loss of volume in between weekly sheet changes, but I do shake the featherbed out and rotate it every time I strip the bed. I plan to get another one for my college freshman son's queen bed at home.
