I bought this with my fingers, eyes and toes crossed b/c there were no other reviews! Well I am happy to report that this 'system' of pillows is perfect! Yes it seems expensive but it's so worth it. For anyone that needs to be semi-upright whether it's for congestion, reading or any other reason, these pillows offer superior support and b/c the angle is adjustable simply by moving the largest wedge up or down. And the behind the knee booster is awesome too! If reading in bed you'll have to supply your own little pillow but I'm sure almost everyone has an extra soft one laying around. Get it! You won't regret it. But it is BIG! But I don't find that an issue but someone else may. It' takes up one side of our queen bed.
I've got mild sleep apnea, and I did a little experimentation on myself, lying on my back, totally relaxing, and opening my lips to try breathing. I found that my throat closes up, but if I'm sitting up, it stays open. I tried cpap (horrible) and dental plates (painful), and I thought I'd try to see if there was a comfortable way to sleep sitting up. And I have to be at a pretty steep angle for my throat to stay open, so those other wedges wouldn't do. This pillow system took some getting used to, but after a few days, I don't wake up struggling to breathe anymore. And I wake up with a healthy pink color, not gray. I honestly don't know why doctors push the cpap over something like this. Powerful cpap lobby, I guess. Anyway, I do have to supplement it with a tiny, squishy pillow at the base for lumbar support, and I use one of those airline pillows for my head, because otherwise my head would flop left or right, and I'd wake up with a neckache. It's not as comfy as sleeping on my side, but I guess those days are over, and this is a great alternative to having a heart attack!
I needed this to sleep with, because lying flat is painful for me. This is pretty good, except that I have to put pillows at my sides for my arms. I was concerned whether it would be firm enough, and it is quite firm enough. I'm very happy with that. For sleeping I found it to feel a bit not right for ME, but others would likely have different experiences. SO, what I did was put a memory foam pad, a thick one over the top pieces after I got the wedges how I wanted them. Then the leg wedge on top of the memory foam pad. And a nice, big, fluffy pillow on each side, a big pillow under my feet (beyond the leg wedge, a pillow under my head, of course, and it is wonderful, just great. And yes, I would buy it again. So, if you buy one, move the pieces around until you find just the right positions for you. Likely you won't have to do all that I did. Especially since the top adjusts so beautifully. I really like that feature. A genius designed this, no doubt!
The back is a little short for me. i have placed it on a 2 inch high piece of foam and that helps.
The 3-pc wedge system eases lumbar stress while providing very firm support, and adjusts easily to multiple positions. I personally needed to add an additional gel memory foam pillow in the lower lumbar area and a "horse collar" pillow around the neck while sleeping for even greater support and comfort. IMHO, the wedge system is a huge improvement over the stacked pillows I used before that used to slip and slide and become uncomfortable during the night. I do think the system could be further improved with sculpted shaping in the lower lumbar area rather than the current flat surface, and the addition of an inch of softer memory foam immediately under the surface of the removeable covers. The surface as currently designed is very firm. Also, be advised that this wedge system is BIG! If you insist on a designer look for your bed, then you will need a large closet in which to store the 3 pieces during the day. Even with my caveats, I rate this system Five Stars for an innovative and very helpful support system.
This comfort dreams zero gravity adjustable 3 piece wedge system is comfortable and helps with back pain. It’s bit bulky for moving on and off the bed.
Got this pillow set to read in bed. I have spina bifida occulta and suffer from major back pain if I lift heavy weights, wear any heals or ride on a bike. This set of pillows helps me to relax before I go to sleep. I love the fact that one can slide the circular pillow as low or as high as one desires. The pillows come with a plush like covers with zippers (mine are tan and cream). The under the knees pillow (wedge) helps to support the back while reading. This set is well worth the money. The only thing I recommend for prospective buyers is to open the package carefully not to tear the bags (they come vacuum sealed). I put the pillows back in the bags they were shipped in, as the cream side of the cover can get dirty very easily. The material of the pillows is memory foam but still very firm (which I love). When you have major back pain firmness is a plus and a must. The set is fairly big but again when you get support you can have a good night sleep and that is what matters in the end. No pain and some much deserved rest. Big thumbs up. Very happy with the purchase.
I have heart and breathing problems due to Lyme disease and have had to sleep propped up using 8 pillows for the last two years. I found this Wedge system and decided to give it a try. I love it! It works great and I've been really happy with it. You can adjust it up or down and use it with or without the knee pillow. Of course you need another pillow for you head, but I had plenty to choose from already :) I found it very comfortable and was used to sleeping on it in two nights.
I purchased this pillow system to provide day and night support after my abdominal surgery. I am very impressed with the quality and over all comfort of this product; so much so, I refer to other patients. I highly recommend!
This 3-piece wedge system is an unbelievably comfortable way to sleep, read and so many different ways to rest comfortably. I so wish I would have bought this a long time ago. I can't say enough of good things about this wedge system. I highly recommend this especially if you have difficulty sleeping flat on your back at night. Thanks to this 3-piece wedge system we didn't have to look in to buying an expensive sleep adjustable bed.
Because of back problems/surgeries, I had been sleeping in a recliner for close to a year. The times I could sleep in my bed were very few and then only on one side. And never all night long. Since purchasing this wedge system, I have been able to sleep in my bed for the entire night. Finally, some restful sleep! It's adjustable so it fits all body types. If you have sleep apnea or acid reflux, you can elevate yourself to help with that. Although I rated this as excellent, it really needs to have some type of neck pillow attached to help support that area. I bought a separate neck roll pillow and cannot sleep without it. I also sleep with a king size pillow to support my right arm/side, just for comfort. The wedge system is totally comfortable, supporting and I wouldn't consider trying to sleep without it. Happy that I made this purchase.
Though I've rated this 3-piece systems comfort as right in the middle between Very Firm & Very Soft, because it's a Memory Foam Product-though somewhat firm to touch it forms to your bodies shape while holding you 'firmly' in the position you've chosen to have it set up in, as it's a 3 piece set making it somewhat adjustable, from sitting completely upright w/support under your knees to take strain off your back-to a less upright bed wedge for sleeping slightly upright for those w/breathing, or acid reflux problems. This set has a wonderful molesting, washable cover on each of the 3-pieces. A fantastic buy-if you've ever priced bed wedges-you know 1 piece can easily run **+ $'s & I have never seen 1 as luxurious-including the cover. You won't find a better buy w/this much quality! Hurry before they're gone!
This is the first time I have ever written a review, but I rely on reviews myself and this product is so amazing, I had to write about my experience. I have very many medical problems, including a connective tissue disorder. I have sciatica, slipped discs, herniated discs and a disintegrated disc in every section of my spine. I have also survived a 9 hour brain surgery and long recovery. I am in severe pain every day. i say all of this (not for a pity party lol) but to say, if this pillow system worked for ME, then it will work for anyone!! I have literally tried every thing you could imagine and couldn't get comfortable for more than 10minutes. Since purchasing this product, I am shocked at how comfortable it is and how long I can go without pain. Don't let the slightly high price deter you, I almost did...now I'm planning to buy 2 more :)
This product was purchased because I had facial surgery and needed to sleep on my back with my head elevated. I have been using the wedge system for 8 nights now and it does the job. One of the things that makes this unit stand out over others is the adjustable factor. You can slide the large pillow up or down against the base wedge to change the angle. The knee pillow is very important in that it helps keep you in position. Without a knee pillow you will likely slide down during your sleep. This system would also work very nicely for watching TV in bed since you can change the angle and it is a lot better than stuffing 3-5 pillows behind you that constantly move or become depressed.
I have 3 herniated discs in my lumbar region and a slipped disc as well. The pain level can change in an instant or its onset can come out of nowhere. All i think about when this happens, no matter where I am at is "I just want to lay down". It is horrible because I can go from enjoying a great time, to a complete downer not able to really listen or laugh to what is going on around me. I have been seeing pain management and since I do not like covering up pain because I would much rather fix it, we are trying some different treatments on me since I did real well with the injectoions. But I waited and dreamed about how wonderful these must feel. I always feel guilty buying high priced personal items for myself; as if I dont deserve them. After all, I was homeless for 7 years. Well you know what, if any of you reading this could benefit from feeling complete relief in this zero gravity position and have pressure taken off your low back... YOU BETTER BE CLICKING THE ORDER BUTTON. instant relief, and you deserve to feel good and you owe it to yourself.. If you have wondered about this amazing set; it is better than you can imagine; so many variables I love mine completely.
Very comfortable. Some reviews say it is hard, but my experience is that it is sturdy but soft. I have been bed ridden on and off for a few years, and find that there are a few factors to consider. 1. if you were bed ridden, you may need to regain muscles to hold yourself up. 2. if you have major back issues, this item may seem very hard like a rock. 3. if your bed is older like mine, it may cause you to lean to one side which is the case for me. Another thing to take into account is how you adjust the back pillows. They give a freedom to adjust yourself from sitting nearly fully upright to being at a 45 degree angle. It is very comfortable to me, and even though sitting up is very hard for me, I am comfortable pushing through the pain of sitting up for the first time in nearly a year. If you are like me coming out of being bed ridden, make sure you have something to help stabilize yourself. I teeter left and right until I can build up my core muscles.
Pros: its not cheap. firm but pliable high end furniture base foam with memory foam topper layer, 3 piece system creates many options for angle of recline. synthetic suede cover helps it stay put once you find a good angle. Cons: its not cheap. angle of drop off at the base of pillow creates a bit more downward pressure on my tail bone than I prefer. I wish it had a little longer tail area transition. tan cover is only on the sides. the part you lay on is white stretch terrycloth. I was hoping for all over tan color for a more living room suitable pillow system. The tan fabric does not stretch so much but the white fabric does so it gets the zipper out of place easy. its bulky and a bit on the heavy side, so relocating it often is a bit of a hassle, but its worth the hassle once you lay on it.
ad the surgery and this is a game changer for me. I have it set up on my couch (with a memory foam contour pillow behind my head) and I can stay here for hours while I watch tv or do work on the computer etc. It alleviates my body from putting all of the pressure on the bottom of my spine as if i were sitting up and it is much more interesting and productive than laying on my back. This product might not be for everyone - but it is great quality and perfectly fits my needs It is memory foam so its soft and firm.. Can't really adjust while using it, but that also means it stays in place once I put it there (which is perfect for me). It is somewhat bulky and if it were something I was using on my bed for regular sleep, I could see how it would be cumbersome, but that does not really apply in my situation
Having surgery and wanted to be able to sit/sleep not only in my recliner. I love that you can change the incline of the wedge. I don't love that I have to get up to do it though. I love the third piece for under your legs as it makes the system more comfortable and helps to keep you from sliding down. The foam is very supportive and comfortable. Seems well made and I expect it to hold up well.
This took a couple of nights to get used to. You will need to get a small or flat pillow for your head and neck. I am very happy I purchased this product, after getting used to this, I will never go back to using 8 pillows again. It is very similar to a hospital bed as it can be adjusted to the different heights from sitting up to laying down. I recommend this product for anyone who uses multiple pillows. Very happy with my purchase. I probably spent as much as I did for the 8 pilliows. I hope this helps someone out there.
