Amazing nights sleep!! I bought this combined with the Supreme Loft Cloud Down-alternative White Cotton Mattress Pad... and I tell you...it was like crawling up on a cloud and drifting off to dreamland ... My pillowtop mattress is about 15 yrs old, and I purchased a 3" Serta Foam Topper about 8 yrs ago...it lasted for quite a while ...till last year my bed started feeling lumpy and so uncomfortable. I contemplated for almost a year if I was gonna bite the bullet and spend 1200.00 for one of those Purple Mattresses...came pretty darn close... but WHO WANTS TO SPEND 1200.00??? Well, I didn't. AWESOME!!! I bought a new bed and thought that a firm would help me not toss and turn all night like I did and also help my back pain I would wake up with in the mornings. After spending a lot of money over the last few months on mattress pads, nothing helped. This was my last attempt as I was ready to just throw away the 700 bucks I spent on my bed for a new one. It was that bad. I read the reviews and decided to try this. It arrived in about 5 days. I immediately unwrapped it and put it on my bed. It was HEAVY, but I may be weak. No smell at all and it fit nice on top of my bed and gave it a lot more height then I thought it would. The cover is really nice! I have not slept this well ever! It's soft but still has a lot of firm to it. It just conforms to your body in every way that it should. I used to wake up with my blankets and sheets all over the place, flipped, etc, from tossing. When I wake up now it doesn't even look like anyone slept in my bed. Best purchase I have made in a long time!!!

Love Gel memory foam!! So my queen size mattress is in the typical 7 year slump of a standard non-flippable modern mattress. That means there is a depression in the middle from where I sleep. I don't have a box spring, a slat bed frame, not sure if a box could possibly help but I don't need my bed any taller! I tried another (cheaper) brand "memory foam" topper for a year that I am pretty sure was just regular foam and after the year it wasn't cutting it. I saw this on Great Offer Stock and it looked to be the best deal I could find online. It is really thick and heavy. It comes shipped rolled up like a jelly roll. I unrolled it with the help of another person to get it situated on the bed (it is heavy & awkward to push around on the mattress). The cover fit perfect & was part of the reason I chose this model because it was such a great price and the added bonus of the matress/foam topper cover so the foam won't wiggle!! My mattress is 10" and this 3" on top equals exactly 13"... meaning the stated size of the foam is correct. I put this on my bed and slept on it 2-3 hours later. At first it might look like its not cut square but really that is because the foam has to expand, when packaged it is more compressed on the edge that is inside the "jelly roll." This fits my standard queen mattress perfectly - no overhang, or short sides. So the addition of this foam on it has really helped cover up the "dent" in the middle of my mattress. I have not tried it sleeping with 2 people yet but with one it definitely lets my pressure points sink in - I'm a side sleeper so my hips and shoulder will sink in further and everything else is supported and kind of floating. It took a few nights to get used to the feeling - it is completely different from the egg-crate type foam or the mattress itself but it completely eliminates the rolling into the middle feeling I was having. Totally worth it at this price, my parents & friends were shocked that it was not $300+. I'm thinking of getting another for use on a fold out guest sleeper sofa. I could even see putting this foam topper directly on my carpet as a guest bed. I would go for the "gel" memory foam over the older memory foam. I have several memory foam pillows that are not the "gel" type and I just really like the "gel" memory foam better it seems more supportive, and not hot at all.

What you see in the picture is what you get. This mattress topper arrived at my door today! All i can say is that it is simply amazing! There is a slight odor strait out of the package but this topper is already on my bed with the cover and another sheet, and i can not smell any odor! The bed i have is very soft and sinks in the middle, it was not very good for my and my girlfriend's back. But after slapping this topper on we both agree it feels much more comfortable and that our backs are going to have much more support. My girlfriend is napping on it right now! PS the waterproof cover seems to be of great quality and is nicer than what you see in the picture!

The water proof cover wrinkles under you The waterproof mattress cover slides under the sheets. It warms up by morning and will wake up in a sweat which I think is due to the waterproof mattress. I prefer the kind with a light cotton zip on cover so it stays in place. It really sinks in so it is difficult to turn over as it has a slow recovery once again due to the waterproof mattress cover does not allow for air flow. I would buy a good PIMA cotton mattress cover and ditch the waterproof pad unless of course you have small children sleeping with you.

I don't know what size you bought, but it won't be easy to roll it up and be in compression. I would say this is not practical to expect to roll it up for storage very often. Without a machine to compress it, even once a year would still be a problem. I moved it once in cold weather and it froze in my trunk. We got it out but it had expanded and frozen. This was made to be put on a bed and left there. HOWEVER, this is truly an excellent memory foam version. I rejuvenated an old king size bed and it works great and I sleep well. I've seen sweating complaints but I don't believe it's due to this topper.

I would say that it depends on the storage conditions. I bought one for a bed in an attic room. My daughter decided she did not like it, so I rolled it up and stored it in an upstairs closet, which got very hot during part of the Washington DC summer and very cold during part of the winter. I recently moved, and trued to use it on a bed in my new place. It unrolled, but it felt like rock. I threw it away.

Probably wouldn't fold and store with the mattress inside the sofa. You may have to store it separately. If you're planning on testing it out, just keep in mind it is shipped to you compressed, and expands after you remove it from the package. It will be much bigger when you are ready to return it.

It's too heavy to move on and off- but be aware that this is not returnable (it's in the description). It can be trimmed, it's nice and thick but unless you have some help, it is a big job to roll it back up to the thickness you receive it in upon delivery. I ended up selling mine because I bought a better quality mattress. Good luck.

No you will feel no difference. It has a real soft top. The only problem I've had on my king size bed, is around the outside edge it has a corded edge that fits closely around the top outside edge. Once in the bed, it pulls up some onto the bed. So you will feel the cord getting in and out of bed.

I did exactly the same thing to mine. I also have a queen short in the RV. It wasn't hard. You will not end up with a perfectly straight cut because you cannot cut through in a single cut with scissors. But it is under the mattress pad and sheet so who cares. You won't be able to use the included cover. Also, it makes the cotton percale sheets a tight fit and the corners may pop off if you don't use sheet clips. I am going to try jersey sheets for a better fit.

This mattress pad will give you the comfort you are looking for. However, it will be difficult for someone to roll and store by themselves. Also, I think it would require enough room to lay flat after rolling up...probably the width of your day bed by 18 to 24 inches high when rolled. The Gel Foam is pretty heavy.

We don't use a heated mattress pad with our memory foam mattress, because we have micro-fiber sheets for added warmth and comfort. But don't see any reason why a heated mattress pad wouldn't work well for you.

We also had used a heating pad to warm our mattress before bedtime in the winter. However, we found that it was unnecessary with the memory foam topper. It seems to store body warmth once you are in bed and feels warm all night.

Where to start...Yes get this and make sure you have the sheets to fit. It will raise the height a bit. However to say it has been awesome for me is an understatement. I have Multiple sclerosis and RA which means that I'm really sensitive to every little thing about my bed. The husband shifts too much or if the mattress pitches weird and I pay for it for a week in pain. I can tell you that this made a world of difference the minute we put it on. My 13 year old came and laid down on my bed (her's is a IKEA mattress) and got mifed at me for not getting her one. Oh and immediately took a nap in my bed with the cat for 2 hours. So needless to say she was ordered one the next week. Don't want to be accused of being a bad mom haha. One more thing...the cover is actually really nice. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Yes, it does have a cooling property, but I actually have a mattress cover over it. As someone who has experienced those middle-of-the-night personal summers, I do not find that the topper has done anything, except make my sleep much more restful.

My husband made me take it off the bed because he said it was hot. I'm the one with the hot flashes and I didn't think it was hot...it made our bed very high..we have stairs with a regular mattress...my hubs said he needed a pole vault to get in. My only complaint is that it is hard to find sheets deep enough to not have one corner off the bed every morning!

I don't think it has anything special for cooling, but I am hot natured and it is fine for me. It really helped my morning back pain! The only unforeseen drawback is the difficulty in turning over. I will take that over back pain any day!

My husband and I personally feel this topper didn't provide any cooling relief while sleeping. It also started out feeling firm but now after only months of using it, it has significantly softened up so much so that we are planning to remove it completely. We originally purchased it to help with the unfortunate performance of a very expensive Sterns & Foster King size mattress we purchased.
