So my queen size mattress is in the typical 7 year slump of a standard non-flippable modern mattress. That means there is a depression in the middle from where I sleep. I don't have a box spring, a slat bed frame, not sure if a box could possibly help but I don't need my bed any taller! I tried another (cheaper) brand "memory foam" topper for a year that I am pretty sure was just regular foam and after the year it wasn't cutting it. I saw this on Great Offer Stock and it looked to be the best deal I could find online. It is really thick and heavy. It comes shipped rolled up like a jelly roll. I unrolled it with the help of another person to get it situated on the bed (it is heavy & awkward to push around on the mattress). The cover fit perfect & was part of the reason I chose this model because it was such a great price and the added bonus of the matress/foam topper cover so the foam won't wiggle!! My mattress is 10" and this 3" on top equals exactly 13"... meaning the stated size of the foam is correct. I put this on my bed and slept on it 2-3 hours later. At first it might look like its not cut square but really that is because the foam has to expand, when packaged it is more compressed on the edge that is inside the "jelly roll." This fits my standard queen mattress perfectly - no overhang, or short sides. So the addition of this foam on it has really helped cover up the "dent" in the middle of my mattress. I have not tried it sleeping with 2 people yet but with one it definitely lets my pressure points sink in - I'm a side sleeper so my hips and shoulder will sink in further and everything else is supported and kind of floating. It took a few nights to get used to the feeling - it is completely different from the egg-crate type foam or the mattress itself but it completely eliminates the rolling into the middle feeling I was having. Totally worth it at this price, my parents & friends were shocked that it was not $300+. I'm thinking of getting another for use on a fold out guest sleeper sofa. I could even see putting this foam topper directly on my carpet as a guest bed. I would go for the "gel" memory foam over the older memory foam. I have several memory foam pillows that are not the "gel" type and I just really like the "gel" memory foam better it seems more supportive, and not hot at all.
I bought a new bed and thought that a firm would help me not toss and turn all night like I did and also help my back pain I would wake up with in the mornings. After spending a lot of money over the last few months on mattress pads, nothing helped. This was my last attempt as I was ready to just throw away the 700 bucks I spent on my bed for a new one. It was that bad. I read the reviews and decided to try this. It arrived in about 5 days. I immediately unwrapped it and put it on my bed. It was HEAVY, but I may be weak. No smell at all and it fit nice on top of my bed and gave it a lot more height then I thought it would. The cover is really nice! I have not slept this well ever! It's soft but still has a lot of firm to it. It just conforms to your body in every way that it should. I used to wake up with my blankets and sheets all over the place, flipped, etc, from tossing. When I wake up now it doesn't even look like anyone slept in my bed. Best purchase I have made in a long time!!!
This Comforpedic Loft from Beautyrest 3-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper with Water Resistant Cover is absolutely wonderful! It adds so much comfort to the bed! I never dreamed it would make such a difference, but it certainly does! I was at first skeptical about how much difference 3-inches would make, but it is truly a difference I was hoping for! I am disabled and have a hard time moving and turning in a bed. This Comforpedic Loft from Beautyrest 3-Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper has made such a difference in my ability to turn, move and sleep it is wonderful! I figure if this gel memory foam mattress topper makes that much difference for me, imagine what it would do for someone who can turn and move with no problems! I would recommend this to anyone looking to add comfort to their bed! I feel this Comforpedic Loft from Beautyrest 3-Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper has certainly done this for me!!
We purchased a Gel Memory Foam Mattress and decided that we would like a 3-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper from Comforpedic Loft. We are now sleeping so much better!
I have slept on an adjustable air bed for many years. But after moving I switched from a platform frame to a slatted bed frame. I 'thought' the slats would have enough give that I would no longer need the foam buffer between the my mattress and the new frame but no matter which way I adjusted my air mattress, I couldn't find the 'right' firmness/softness'. I ordered the memory foam to replace the discarded regular foam but thought I'd try it on top of the air mattress. #1, the foam was way too soft for my needs (my fibro-myalgia body requires a fairly firm yet giving surface); #2, once you lay on the foam, it creates a depression in the foam (that's the memory aspect) so when you wake up or decide to change positions, you find yourself in this 'hole' in the foam [weird sensation] to say the least. After several weeks of trying unsuccessfully to adjust to this new piece of memory foam, I eventually gave up and put the memory foam underneath my original air mattress and am back to sleeping well. For my personal needs, the memory foam was a failed experiment. But I think it is important for who are considering memory foam to realize some of the dynamics and drawbacks of the material. The main reason I went through this 'experiment' was hoping the the 'cooler' memory foam would help with my night sweats and I always knew that 'if' I wasn't comfortable with the memory foam, I could use it just like the old piece of foam that I originally had placed underneath my air mattress. To me, the adjustable air mattress is Still the best investment that we've ever made and it has a much longer lifetime, especially living in AZ where foam dries out and loses its resiliency so quickly. Bottom line, if you life a fairly soft sleeping surface and don't mind waking up in a hole, the memory foam my be OK for you but for my complex physical issues, the air mattress is far superior.
This 3-inch gel memory foam mattress topper has made my too hard mattress soft and comfortable. The package arrived in a week. The packaging was adequate. When I removed it from the box onto my bed and unwrapped the plastic to allow air into the foam, it immediately began to expand. I was patient and waited to remove all the plastic after letting it expand for about half an hour or so, because it was stuck deep inside the rolled foam and I didn’t want to damage it, causing cracks that would weaken it later. Once unrolled and unfolded, I double checked for odor. I had to bury my nose into the foam before I noticed any scent, so that was really minimal. (I can smell odors really well.) The cover that comes with it is of very nice quality fabric, both on the top surface and for the stretch sides with deep pockets. My 10 inch mattress and three inch gel memory foam fit easily. The foam is a little bit softer than I wish, you will notice you sink into it a bit, which is why I would be hesitant to get less than 3 inches. It quickly conforms to our bodies to support us. I have slept more deeply the last three nights than I have for months. I think my husband and I both turn over less now. I haven’t noticed any new issues with feeling too warm, my husband hasn’t mentioned that, either. He is a warmer sleeper and I deal with hot flashes. The price was reasonable and I specifically purchased this one because it was made in the USA. I have seen old foam recycling in another country and didn’t want any part of that. I didn’t take a photo because it looked just like the product picture online I do recommend this product.
My wife and I needed a mattress pad to help soften our very firm mattress. We looked at several on the site and decided we had two primary needs. We wanted a memory foam topper for the support they offer, but also wanted something that would also stay cool. We Looked at many toppers at Great Offer Stock before deciding on this model. We were swayed by Overstock's description which states "Cool, rejuvenating gel absorbs pressure and channels heat away". We also fell for the deceptively named product, thinking that it was a Simmons Beautyrest product. It's not, but I'm sure the confusion caused by this deceptive branding was purposeful on the part of the manufacturer. That, after all, would cause people to feel comfortable that they were buying a product from a reputable manufacturer. It arrives in an unmarked box with no literature and no branding. While the foam wrapper does say "Made in the USA", the waterproof cover is made "in China". I didn't mind the cover as I planned to re-use our existing cover, which itself was recently purchased. Let's address the smell. Yes it smells like a chemical plant when you open it out. But more unpleasant was returning home the next to find the smell had wafted out of the room it was left to unfurl and now filled the house. I opened a window to get fresh air in and get that awful smell out. The second day the smell improved enough that I moved it onto the bed and covered it with my mattress cover. I will say that most of the smell is masked by the cover and didn't prove any further issue. On that first night we slept comfortably enough. The topper was a bit warm, but as we were in the middle of an Artic Blast and temperatures were in the teens, we didn't mind too much. By the third night of use, we both noticed that the topper was softening up significantly in the areas where we slept. Now my wife and I aren't large people by any means - I am 5'8" tall and weigh in at 165lbs, while my wife is 5'4" and weighs in at (removed upon threat of death). We did not expect this to happen. After a full week, the topper now softened so much that it provided little support, which led to tossing and turning and morning back aches. Not at all what we'd hoped for. We however decided to keep trying hoping things would somehow get better. The Real Probelms Though this is advertised as a gel memory foam, it more resembles a traditional memory foam that has been colored blue. It absolutely does not deliver on the "cool, rejuvenating gel" promise from Overstock's description. The fact is it absorbs and retains your body heat and becomes uncomfortably warm within 1-2 hours of laying down. This became more apparent when temperatures warmed into the upper 30s to low 40s (Farenheit). The heat was just too unbearable. This, combined with the fact that the foam loses all support as it warms, led to sleepless night and achy mornings. It was so bad that we gave up at 3am one morning and pulled it off the mattress just so we could have a few hours of rest. All in we used this product for 3 weeks. And it was a complete failure. This product does not even deserve 1 star. I equate this purchase with a violent mugging, where I was beaten with a lead pipe and liberated of $*** of my hard earned money. It has taught me to keep my guard up at all times against deceptive marketing practices and retailers. It has taught me to read and analyze product reviews to protect against another violent mugging by and e-tailer. If you've read this the simply summary is: DO NOT BUY!!!
I am so happy that I bought this! It makes sleeping so amazing! I had gotten a 1 1/2 inch memory foam topper a few years ago and it wasn't the same. The 3 inches makes a huge difference!
we have a four inch topper for our bed and love it! this three inch topper is for our guest bed and it seems just as comfortable as the four inch. It amazing to watch this unfold to proper size. There is a slight odor, but it quickly goes away.
This mattress topper arrived at my door today! All i can say is that it is simply amazing! There is a slight odor strait out of the package but this topper is already on my bed with the cover and another sheet, and i can not smell any odor! The bed i have is very soft and sinks in the middle, it was not very good for my and my girlfriend's back. But after slapping this topper on we both agree it feels much more comfortable and that our backs are going to have much more support. My girlfriend is napping on it right now! PS the waterproof cover seems to be of great quality and is nicer than what you see in the picture!
Received my memory foam mattress topper with water resistant cover, it's very nice and comfortable, the cover looks like it's excellent quality and was wide enough to tuck it in under the mattress and the topper!
I finally replaced my six inch foam memory topper with this one. I was concerned this three inch topper wouldn't be thick enough, but it is perfect. The six inch topper was very heavy and difficult to manipulate and adjust. It also was so thick I would sink. This topper not only made my life better being more manageable, but I find it's thickness gives the perfect amount of support and comfort. The thicker memory foam would get hot, this one is just like not having a topper, just the magic of added mattress comfort. I liked it so well I purchased one for my older daughter!
I have a 2 inch memory foam mattress topper which I love, I bought this for my vacation rental, but after sleeping on it, I think 3 inch is too much. I sink into it which I like, but it's too much foam which impedes turning over at night. Its also makes me sleep warmer than usual.
The Beautyrest 3-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper is another very useful product I should have purchased years ago. The thought of resting or simply going to sleep on the 3-inch Foam Mattress Topper is very assuring. Thinking seriously of getting another one for our 2nd bedroom soon. One of the best purchases I have ever made. I have increased my sleep time greatly which healthwise is a good thing to do. Thanks Beautyrest!!
The Beautyrest 3-inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress topper is being used by my son who has had a severe stroke. He is resting very comfotrably now. Thank you.
great topper. bought for my too firm mattress. Love it! It is a little sinky being 3 inches vs. 2 inches, so you have to be into that sort of thing.
These 3" gel memory foam are so comfortable!
This is a great topper. Added this to an 11-inch memory foam mattress and love it. The memory foam mattress was a little too firm and quite warm on hot nights. This topper adds some luxurious cush and seems to be cooler in warm weather.
I purchased this gel memory foam mattress pad as a replacement for another memory foam mattress pad that I bought from Great Offer Stock 4 years ago, item 12116668. I wanted to upgrade to the gel memory foam as it is advertised as being better able to dissipate heat than the regular memory foam. What I like: This gel foam topper feels firmer and more supportive than my old one. That may just be because the old one has 4-years of use; I don't remember if the old one was firmer when I first purchased it but I was definitely sinking into a hole at night with the old one and that's not happening with the new one. I've slept very well on the new one, and my husband says the same thing. The cover has a nice, lightly quilted feel to it. I haven't tested it to see if it's truly waterproof yet, though. What I'm disappointed in: The waterproof cover wraps around the sides of the topper and then ends within a few inches underneath the cover. The sides don't come down over the sides of the mattress, like my old one did. So far I haven't noticed the mattress topper shifting around much, but that's my concern. I also liked the fact that the old one covered my entire mattress, keeping it clean. Now, about the gel dissipating body heat. Totally disappointed with that. It's just not true, from my experience. So I'll have to continue to sleep with the ceiling fan on in order to keep from cooking at night. Would I buy it again? Probably. I love, love, love sleeping on memory foam, even considering the fact that it retains heat. Once you get used to sleeping on memory foam, nothing else even comes close!
I was so excited about this purchase and then after a few nights, I realized we didn't care for it. 3 inches on top of a 14 inch mattress made it difficult for me to climb into bed. Once in bed, I didn't think it made much of a difference for comfort. I heard the 4 inch toppers are better, but I think our mattress was just too high so 4 inch would be even more difficult to get in. Good news, since we purchased the king size, we cut in half and sent with both our kids for college and they love it on those thin college beds.
