"What tools do you need to put this together?"
I am really happy with this product...the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is that one of the wheels was milled improperly & I had to go get Liquid Sauder to fix the problem. It is giving me more storage space, more counter space etc....

Excellent table top quality The assembled product is a home run and the wheels make it easy to move. The overall craftsmanship and table top quality is outstanding. The drawers could have been beefed up ...however on an overall scale 1-10 it's a 9.5, Store assembled comparable units are 2 to 2.5 times the purchase price. It can be put together by your self; however as indicated ask for help. estimated assembly time....1 bottle of wine.....most of which was admiring the final assembled product!

Love This Work Station! We had been looking for a kitchen work station for almost a year. This one is perfect. We actually put it together ourselves and neither of us is very handy with tools! Very attractive, and keeps a kitchen much cleaner! I've had this island for a couple of months now. Buy LOTS of mineral oil (I got mine in the laxative section at Wal Mart... 3 large bottles just for starters.) It's amazing how much oil the wood will absorb.! High quality fit and finish. The butcher block is very nice! I love the contiguous surface. I've trained the kids to do all their food prep on the island. The chop & drop can be used for both unwanted scraps or for storing diced vegetables. This is wonderful for cutting up vegetables for a stir-fry! I have a separate sponge scrubby that I keep on the rack for wiping the board. I don't use my countertop sponge on it. Keeping it oiled makes it wonderfully resistant to sticky tidbits. I use the scrubby side to wipe residue into the hole, then finish up with wiping up the damp sponge side. Storing frequently-used bowls and pots makes them so much more accessible and frees up space elsewhere. It rolls easily away when I'm cleaning the floor. The other counters in my small kitchens stay much cleaner. The two drawers are very nice as well and don't feel cheap. This should last decades!

Hi Jelena, Yes, the spice rack can be installed on either side. You just need to make your decision while your putting it together. The rack itself rest in the towel rack so it can't be moved once the work station is completed. I installed mine on the opposite side of the bottom wine rack. Hope this helps!
